Born in Minnesota, Mr. Bauer has lived in Ohio, Arizona, and now California. A love for teaching and a love for music has guided his career. 25 years as a 5th & 6th grade teacher, and 9 years as a music teacher. The challenges and excitement have been rewarding. Over and above all, a love for sharing Jesus with young children makes everything meaningful and wonderful.

Born in North Hollywood, Miss Gusman has lived in CA all her life. She loves teaching young children and enjoys teaching art. She has been teaching for over 15 years.

Back in 1981, Ms. Hartel left the Midwest to move to California. Starting as a full-time Phys. Ed. teacher, she transitioned and settled into teaching the early minds of Kindergarten and Grade 1. Her love for teaching children who have a thirst and excitement for learning has made every year new and exciting. When she is not teaching your children, she is spending time enjoying her children and grandchildren. Family is the biggest love of her life, followed by the love of the outdoors and nature.

ABOUT

Jesse Bartlett was born in Seattle, raised in Alaska and San Diego, and has lived in Houston and Los Angeles. His two oldest children are NHCA alumni and his youngest child is a current student at NHCA. He has enjoyed working with the NHCA and St. Paul's family as a parent and library volunteer over the years before joining the staff. Jesse previously taught 6th-grade Social Studies in Houston. He is excited to be teaching 3rd grade.

Mrs. Mindock was born and raised in North Hollywood, and even has the privilege of being an alumna of North Hollywood Christian. She has taught 2nd and 4th grades and enjoys helping out with music at church. She has been married for 27 years and has 2 sons.  She is blessed to be teaching in a Christ-centered school where ministry opportunities abound.

ABOUT

Eric Matz was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He and his family attended St. Paul's First Lutheran Church in North Hollywood, California. He has been a member of our church for most of his life and has volunteered there whenever the opportunity arose.

Eric attended Cal State Northridge for his undergraduate, where he earned a degree in Religious Studies and a minor in Sociology. He returned a year later and earned his California Teaching Credential for Multiple Subjects, which is intended for elementary education. After earning this credential, he took online classes through Martin Luther College to get his synod certification. In 2021, Eric taught 2nd grade at Reformation Lutheran School in San Diego. While at Reformation, he was an assistant coach for elementary boy's basketball. In April 2022, he accepted a call to teach 5th grade here at North Hollywood Christian Academy.

Mr. Jonah Babinec grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He went to high school at Shoreland Lutheran High School and attended Martin Luther College and graduated in 2023. NHCA is his 1st call and is our 7th grade teacher.
